Farmers' Market Ministry

Westerville Saturday Farmers Market Ministry

May 18th - September 29th

9am to 11:30pm

Beginning on May 18, the Westerville Farmers’ Market will return to our backyard. Each Saturday during the summer, the parking lots to the east and south of the church will be filled with people shopping for fresh farm products, homemade crafts, and other items from the dozens of vender booths set up there. And our church is literally the backdrop for it all.

For the past two years, First Presbyterian has had a booth at the Farmers’ Market. We don’t sell anything at the booth. Instead, we offer something to entertain the children that accompany their parents to the Market. The photo shows kids—and Pastor Mark--having fun there last year. Families stop by our booth so kids can play with bubbles, draw with sidewalk chalk, and relax on our lawn. And we get to interact with the kids, parents, and grandparents who stop by. We do this as an outreach to the community. We do this so the kids will have something fun to do at the Market. We do this because it is just a lot of fun.

We are now gearing up for the 2024 Farmers’ Market, and we are looking for people who will join in making our Farmers’ Market Ministry happen again this summer. We will need people to sign up to work from 9:00 am – 11:30 a.m. on a given Saturday. This will entail setting out the bubble machines and chalk, keeping the bubble solution flowing, talking with parents, and putting it all away when it’s over. We’ll schedule people who haven’t volunteered at the Market before with experienced people so that everyone will know what’s going on.

You can sign up by clicking >HERE<. You can also sign up by calling the church office and letting Olivia know when you would like to work.

The Farmers’ Market begins May 18 and continues through September 29. This is a great way to share our church with the community and maybe make some friends in the process.
