Looking to the Future

In 2009, First Presbyterian Church embarked on a visioning journey that in September resulted in a two-day, all-church event called Discover, Dream and Do.

Led by Larry Peers, a senior consultant with the Alban Institute, Discover, Dream and Do provided a structured opportunity to discover who we were as a congregation, dream about our potential as a fellowship of Christians and to put what we learned into concrete action.

Since then, First Presbyterian has embarked on a number of exciting initiatives that align with what God is calling us to do. These activities span the entire life of the church: congregational care; difficult issues; intergenerational life; spiritual growth; outreach to new members and visitors; diversity; and community outreach.

First Presbyterian Church is not done discovering, dreaming and doing. In 2010, we purchased a former doctor’s office next door. The Annex will serve our congregation and our community as we launch new programs to grow in fellowship and community. And, as we continue to pursue our vision, Discover, Dream and Do will be the framework by which we are guided.
