Session is our church's governing body. It is composed of members elected from the congregation to lead our church. Session members serve for three years and may be reelected once to serve for a maximum of six years in a row. One third of session members' terms expire each year and therefore one third of session positions are subject to election each year.

Session members are ordained as Elders at the beginning of the first term they serve and remain Elders for life. During their serving term(s) lay elders are known as Ruling Elders

The pastor is also a member of session (though not a member of the church). The pastor is also known as a Teaching Elder.

The Presbyterian system of Teaching and Ruling Elders is ment to be a practical manifestation of the protestant doctrine of the priesthood of all believers.
